Who this is for

You are going through months, or even years, of sleep deprivation. You gradually adapted to this new normal, but there are still signs that remind you of the toll this is taking. You feel indecisive. You feel like there's a fog in your head, making it hard to focus. You'd love to run around with your child, but you're running on empty.

The Dancing Mother is not formulated to force your body into a high energy state that it actually can't sustain. Because such herbs absolutely exist, but I don't believe that they are truly supportive to the demands of a mother's body. Instead, this blend addresses what is causing the lack of energy, so you'll rebuild long term.

Ingredients

[All organic and local] Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis, herba), Nettle (Urtica dioica, semen), Dandelion (Taraxacum officinale, radix), Spearmint (Mentha spicata, herba) extracted in Organic Alcohol and Distilled Water (62% v/v, gluten free).

Rosemary

Treasured since ancient times to sharpen focus, especially during mental fatigue.

Nettle Seed

Deeply nourishing, traditionally used to restore vitality in times of physical and emotional depletion. The most underrated herb in my collection.

Dandelion Root

A classic in herbalism for supporting healthy liver function and the body's natural detoxification processes. Supports overal metabolic balance.

Spearmint

The symbol of abundance. Supports the pathway to mental clarity through digestive support.

How to use it

Take 2–3ml directly under the tongue or in a small glass of tea or water. Hold 30 seconds before swallowing for the fastest effect. Another option would be to add to your water bottle and drink throughout the day, although this will depend on your taste experience.

Consistency matters more than timing. The effect of herbs usually lasts for 3-4 hours. These plants work best as daily nourishment rather than acute intervention.

On alcohol content, especially for the breastfeeding mothers: a single dose contains less alcohol than a ripe banana. To be precise — 1/8th of a teaspoon at 70% alcohol. This is for the highest extraction ratio across all Rooted Mothers tinctures.

Contra indications

Pregnancy. None of the herbs in this blend carry documented contraindications for pregnancy. However, herbal preparations as a category have not been formally studied in pregnant women, and the precautionary principle applies. This means that you'll also find the legal disclaimer contraindicating pregnancy on the label of this tincture. If you are pregnant, please discuss use with your midwife or healthcare provider before taking any herbal preparation.

Diuretic medication. Dandelion root has a mild diuretic action and may theoretically interact with diuretic medications — though clinical evidence for this interaction at the doses present in a tincture is limited.

If you are taking pharmaceutical medication, I recommend a conversation with your healthcare provider before introducing any new herbal preparation. I also answer every message directly — reach me on Instagram or by email.

Other things that support your energy

Eat within an hour of waking

Blood sugar stability in this window sets the energy pattern for the day.

Not because you are hungry, but because cortisol is highest in the first hour after waking. Skipping breakfast in a depleted state asks the adrenals to compensate, which accelerates the depletion this blend is trying to reverse.

Prioritise protein at every meal

Neurotransmitters need their building blocks

Amino acids are the building blocks of every neurotransmitter, including the dopamine and acetylcholine that cognitive clarity and motivation depend on. A depleted nervous system cannot manufacture what it is not given the materials for.

Always sleep before midnight

Nettle seed supports the window between 22:00 and 02:00

Try to consistently sleep before midnight. Between 22:00 and 02:00 growth hormone peaks and adrenal tissue restore, which is exactly what nettle seed is supporting. It works significantly better when you are actually asleep during these hours. Also, inconsistent sleep timing prevents the HPA axis from regulating properly (regardless of the amount of hours you sleep).

Magnesium in the evening

Most depleted mothers are magnesium deficient without knowing it

Magnesium is depleted by chronic stress and is directly involved in adrenal function, sleep quality, and over 300 enzymatic processes. Supplementing it in the evening supports both sleep and adrenal restoration at the same time.
